To have good time at Kruger park we decided to book 4x4 car to be sure that we will not have problems during two weeks photo holidays. During booking at AVIS in the Netherlands I had good service. The price for 4x4 car is about double and we decided to take 360 insurance to be sure that we will not have problems later.
Unfortunately at start point Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (Nelspruit) situation was totally different. They didn't had 4x4 car (even we paid all reservation fee in front and agreed very clear about to get 4x4 car). Woman on check-in desk was very surprise why we want so much 4x4? After long discussion (not very nice 2 hours to discuss, in place to spent time in Kruger, especially then it closing time is sharp) we agreed that they will bring to our hotel 4x4 car in evening. As small compensation we got GPS for free (so was agreed and written on the form, it is not possible to use it in park). We got a promised car on evening and it was ok situation. After few days we been back from holidays in South Africa, I got very not nice surprise again - they found some damage on car (later? - after few days, not clear on which car?) and we not need to worry, because insurance will pay. I didn't agreed with any damage, because during delivering the car was no damage at all and it is written in the report. I was surprise again few more times... I got a bill (the money were taken from my credit card immediately) for the GPS, gas (we filed in full tank before delivery) and etc and also administration cost because of damage (which we didnt had during delivering back car). I wrote immediately email that I not agree with it. They wrote back I need to pay administration fee, because of damage (again which we didnt). I called to AVIS again about all situation. The woman on telephone promised me they going to re-open the case. Nothing happen yet. I wrote again email- the same answer we need to pay. I called again
I just wonder is indeed AVIS has right just to charge you for that they want and when they want?
