Avoid Sixt!

Review over Sixt

After being changed for damage I did not cause, a 2-3cm scratch on the rim (473,92 Euros later) my year long troubles started with Sixt. I objected to the damage but agreed to pay (since I signed the contract agreeing to it), with the only request being the work order for repairing the damage. This however resulted in a response of "that is not a reason not to pay", which turned out to be a pattern where Sixt damage would respond with stuff that had no bearing to the previous emails, and considering it usually takes them weeks to respond to an email one would assume that they at least can respond on the actual content of the email.

But despite me stating numerous times in my emails for them to charge my card and just to send me the workorder (Them refusing and stating I need to do a bank transfer) they reported me to a credit collection agency, and despite me paying the collection agency they still continued chasing me for the payment. Switching tactics I started asking for photos of the vehicle from a previous damage, and after following up numerous times and phoning their customer service on a daily basis due to the lack of any responses, the damage claim was cancelled. If only this was the end of this whole ordeal.
Despite them cancelling the claim on 2 April my refund only occurred on 26 June (Almost 3 months later), and that only occurred because I had to do Sixt job and deal with the collection agency and then back to Sixt over and over again until my matter could be solved since Sixt refused to deal with their service partner.

I sent emails to the branch directly to get the photos 12 mails over 3 to 4 months - No response. I phoned and got their "Fraud" department email, sent 3 emails - No response. Along with a couple other mail trails, one over 50 emails long with very little to no responses. Overall I got the impression that Sixt does not care and set up their department and processes to make it as difficult as possible for you to resolve anything. And then we are not even talking about the contradicting stories and lies I have been told while dealing with this process, which of course they never wanted even investigate or do anything about

From start to finish this whole process took around 11 months, with them having my money for around 7 months. What a horror show and frustrating time, I will never use Sixt again and I urge you to also avoid them, there are a lot of other companies you can make use of.
